Kedar Kantha Trek (Detailed Itinerary)

Take an AC train for Dehradun at 06:55 hrs from New Delhi Railway Station. On arrival at Dehradun by 12:40 hrs, here meet our representative and transfer to Mussoorie by road. On arrival at Mussoorie check in to the hotel. In the evening, visit the market of Mussoorie and roan near Mall Road. Overnight stay in a hotel in Mussoorie.

Post breakfast, we shall drive to Sankri, which will take about 6-7 hrs to reach Sankri. The drive is through Mussoorie, Kempty Fall, Nainbagh, Purola, and Mori. On arrival at Sankri, we will set out our camp for an overnight stay.

Today, we will start our trek up to Juda ka Talab from Sankri. The trekking trail has several small ponds on the way to Kedar Kantha. One can witness the majestic snow-capped Himalayan Peaks. We shall pitch our tent here for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, we shall trek to Kedar Kantha. The trekking trail is adorned with flowers, lush green meadows and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight in tents.

The day is for the exploration of Kedar Kantha, one can attempt the summit. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

In the morning, we will trek back to Sankri. From here, we shall drive to Dehradun. On arrival at Dehradun, we will board the Mussoorie Express at 9:15 PM for Delhi. Overnight journey.

I am a first timer. Should I go for Kedarkantha Trekking?

Yes, definitely. The Kedarkantha trek route is considered to be easy to moderate which means it is suitable for beginners. The journey beginners at 6400 ft. and you have to travel up to 12500 ft., but the roads aren’t very steep with just a few ascends and descend along the way.

Each day you walk for approximately 5-6 hours which is considered the regular trek pace even for amateurs and are accompanied by expert guides. You’re welcomed by beautiful snow-laden roads and alpines along the way, which make the long walk absolutely worth it.
